Championship History
Mexico's national championship was established in 1973 under FENAMAC. It was originally called the National Closed Championship and adopted the National Absolute Championship name in 1997.
Marcel Sisniega Campbell dominated the early decades, while Juan Carlos González Zamora became the record holder with nine listed titles between 2004 and 2018.
The 2025 National Absolute Championship was played over nine rounds in Zacatecas. Arturo Fernández Hernández scored 7.5/9 to win the title and qualify for Mexico's 2026 Olympiad team.
