1. Accounts

You may need an account to access some features. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and are responsible for any activity in your account.

Notify us via our contact form if you suspect unauthorized access.

2. Public Profiles & User Content

The Service may allow you to publish a public profile and create custom puzzle sets (collectively "User Content").

• You retain ownership of your User Content.
• You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content to operate, improve, and promote the Service.
• You represent that you have the rights to post the User Content and you will not post anything illegal.

We may remove or restrict User Content to enforce these Terms or protect the Service and other users.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Break the law, infringe others' rights, or attempt unauthorized access.
• Interfere with the Service (scraping, automation, excessive requests, bypassing rate limits).
• Reverse engineer or extract source code beyond what the law permits.
• Upload malware, spam, or take actions that disrupt the Service.

4. Advertising

IgniteChess may display advertising (for example, via Google AdSense). Ads may be contextual or personalised depending on your cookie settings, consent, and applicable law.

5. Chess Content & Analysis

The Service provides chess puzzles, training statistics, and optional Stockfish analysis for informational or educational purposes. Evaluations may be inaccurate, and you are solely responsible for how you use them.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service (software, UI, text, graphics, and branding) is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without permission.

7. Eligibility (13+)

IgniteChess is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, you must not use the Service or create an account. We may delete accounts and associated data if we learn the account belongs to a child under 13.

8. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service and other users. You may stop using the Service at any time.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED £100.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post updated Terms on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the changes.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be handled in courts located there.
