Championship History
The first Czech national events were championships of Bohemia held between 1905 and 1913. A short Bohemia and Moravia series followed during World War II, before the modern Czech Republic championship began in 1993.
David Navara has defined the modern record book, winning fourteen Czech Republic titles. Other repeated champions include Vlastimil Babula, Petr Hába, Pavel Blatný, and Vojtěch Plát.
The 2026 championship was a ten-player round robin in Brno. Navara and Václav Finek both scored 7.5/9 without a loss, with Navara taking his fourteenth title on tiebreak.
