Lasker and José Raúl Capablanca finally met for the championship in Havana after negotiations that had begun years earlier and been interrupted by the First World War. Lasker had held the title since 1894.

Capablanca won four games and lost none; ten games were drawn. Lasker conceded the match after game 14, making Capablanca world champion with a 9–5 score. The collection includes all fourteen played games.

All 14 played games appear below in match order. The game records preserve the archive’s player names, round numbers and dates, including unknown date components.
